Oprah Winfrey’s book club was a social phenomenon in itself. When Oprah put her name on a book, it was golden. Winfrey has announced the return of her book club, but this time in digital form.
The club is going to come back next week and will be part of her Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) on cable television. OWN has seen declining ratings this year and suffered a whopping $300 million dollar loss. This has led to the team brainstorming on ways to get things back on track.
The New York Times says that any book recommended by Oprah would go over one million in sales. Does she have that kind of fire power in the digital age?
Oprah did a great job helping white authors, some with no integrity become popular, but when I tried to get to her I was told that she did not accept unsolicited authors. I knew Stedman in Denver, tried to communicate through him, my effort is only to do what teachers of earlier generations did. I do not write porn, or smut books, I spent most of my life trying to do the right thing. Check my website, and tell me if you think I am so off course that I do not deserve to tell a story?
