Amazing: Prof. Says We Can Use 3-D Printing to Build Inexpensive, Custom-Designed Homes in 20 Hours

One of the challenges for over a billion people around the world is the cost of housing.  Homes are difficult to construct, take lots of time, and can be very expensive.  Behrokh Khoshnevis is a professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering and is the Director of Manufacturing Engineering Graduate Program at the University of Southern California (USC).  The professor wants to use CAD/CAM technology to make it easier to build homes for those who cannot afford them.

Believe it or not, he argues that we can scale up 3-D printing to build entire neighborhoods with dignified housing at a fraction of the cost in a fraction of the time.  This would be a huge step in the creation of affordable housing for much of the world.

Take a look at the video below:

  1. Hello Family I truly believe that this particular subject we can rally behind. Maybe Khoshnevis can appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
We do have a tendency to rally behind many senseless none
    - productive issues – such as- White People using the n-word-or some other none-sense. Now is a very good time to join with one that can lead the way for those of us in a position to house one and other at an affordable price. Through my interpretation of building houses in a’3D printing configuration can cut cost and time.
How long are we going to stand on the side line and watch how things evolve and not be on the cutting edge of change.

  2. This is very good! I would consider buying a home like this. Thank you for the presentation of this innovation.
