Man Catches the Scariest Fish You’ve Ever Seen in Your Life

scary fish

If this fish is not one of the most frightening things you’ve ever seen, then you probably need counseling.  What makes it even more shocking is that this ugly thing was caught in New Jersey.

This Sea Lamprey has taken the entire Internet by storm.   This fish is enormous, as measured by the size of the beast relative to the man’s hand, which can be seen in the picture.  Lamprey kill their prey by attaching to their victims with their suction-cup like mouths and even have a secretion that they release to keep the victim’s blood from clotting.  As a result, most of the Lamprey’s victims die from excessive blood loss.

The fish are considered to be pests in the waters where they dwell.  Also, their aggressive predatory tactics often harm populations of more desirable (and less scary fish).   If you go fishing and see one of these in the water, you might just want to go home.
