The Broward County Sheriff’s Office has reported that a man accused of torching his ex-fiancée’s psychic business died of his own injuries after sending the building up in flames.
Monday, 19-year-old Luis Evans died at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s burn unit. Detectives say they are currently trying to discover what happened during Luis’ last hours of his life.
The fire was discovered at 7 P.M. Sunday when a driver saw smoke arising from a building located at 5716 Hallandale Beach Blvd. in West Park. In the building, there was a psychic business owned by 26-year-old Jennifer Tanner – Luis’ ex-fiancée.
The witness told BSO deputies that they saw a black Pontiac leaving the premises around the building as fire set a blaze the small business building.
A State Fire Marshal dog discovered accelerates in the building after the fire was soon extinguished.
Tanner later received a phone call from a source, stating her ex-fiancée Luis showed up at a friend’s house with severe burns to his body and was taken to Jackson Memorial. The black Pontiac was also discovered by BSO after leaving the scene of the fire.
