A man spent Black Friday on his way to jail when police found that he did something that no good parent would ever do. Police say that the 34-year old shopper decided to go shopping inside Best Buy and leave his two-month old child in the car the entire time.
According to News4jax.com, the Florida Highway Patrol said that an off-duty officer was working at the store and saw the baby in the car, which was locked at the time. The baby was asleep and the parents were nowhere to be found.
The officer then went to the shoppers who were in line and asked all of them who the child’s parent was. After 10 minutes, no one confessed, and the officer broke the window and got the baby out. The child appeared to be worn out from being left inside the vehicle while his father was off trying to find the latest deals on tablet PCs and flat screen TVs.
Haider Hassan Khudhair Darwash eventually came back to the car and tried to explain himself, but to no avail. He claims that he thought his wife had the baby, but the officers weren’t having it. The man was arrested on felony child neglect.
He will now have to sell that flat screen to pay his bail. Thank God his child was OK.
