Have you ever wished for $1 billion dollars? Do you like college basketball? If you answered yes to both questions, all you have to do is put your skills to the test during the NCAA March Madness.
Every year, people from all over the world gather around to watch March Madness at local restaurants and bars. They watch them with family and friends. And, they fill out their brackets. That’s right; they attempt to predict who will win the National Championship by deciding which teams will advance to each round until there’s a national champion.
Here’s a reason to shout this year. Warren Buffet will give you $1 Billion for filling out the perfect March Madness Bracket. You read it correctly, $1 Billion dollars. Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway and Dan Gilbert’s Quicken Loans are partnering to offer this award.
In a statement given by Jay Farner, the President and Chief Marketing Officer of Quicken Loans, ‘it is our mission to create amazing experiences for our clients. This contest, with the possibility of creating a billionaire, definitely fits that bill.’
Whoever fills out the bracket correctly will be paid in 40 annual installments of $25 million dollars. If a person doesn’t want the installments, they can opt for a lump sum payment of $500 million dollars. In case there’s more than one winner, the billion dollars will be split.
Quicken Loans will award $100,000 each to the 20 contest’s ‘most accurate imperfect brackets submitted by qualified entrants in the contest to use towards buying, refinancing, or remodeling a home.’ In addition to this, Quicken Loans will donate $1 million to inner-city Detroit and Cleveland non-profit organizations.
[Dan Gilbert, the owner of Quicken Loans is also the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the city’s Horseshoe Casino]
With all of that said, get your brackets ready. There’s no cost to participate in this contest. March 3rd is the beginning date.
